Holster your weapon. Do you always shoot the messenger?
All I did was explain how Outlook is designed and why. Hard to understand
how that created the need for your personal attack.
Most users when they realize that a design is intentional but does not
happen to meet their specific needs look for alternative ways to do what
they want. And you have plenty.
Anyone who has used Outlook for more than 5 minutes realizes that the
Outlook Address Book is an interface that has been deprecated and is not
intended to be the primary interface for selecting recipients. It is a
legacy for those who remain attached to an "address book" interface.
Instead, Outlook has focused development on other methods for selecting
recipients such as:
1. Customized views of Contacts Folders
2. Autoresolution
3. Autocompletion
4. Categories
If you can't figure out a way to accomplish what you want, post a specific
question and see if someone else has figured out a way. If there are none,
post a suggestion to Microsoft.
What I am telling you is not to hold your breath waiting for the Outlook
Address Book to undergo any further changes or development. It relies on an
old, legacy transport to which changes are not easily made and it hasn't
been changed one bit in the 8 years and 5 versions of Outlook. That's just
what is, and it's not my fault.

Yes. And they are currently recognized as fax numbers.
Obviously if you think there is nothing to fix I am wasting my time
answering this thread. I will live with the unorganized email address
window
until someone gets their head out. It is not worth my time to reorganize
all
my contacts with fax numbers so you can say the issue is resolved. Get a
life. I can't believe a couple minor adjustments to the Addresses window
would not fix the problem. How about putting both the real email address
and
the wrongly perceived fax/email address on the same line and give the
option
to not show (or otherwise use) the fax column when sending email?
