Outlook probably doesn't close because of some add-in doesn't free the
process. Add-ins that could cause this are from your spamfilter or
virusscanner. Make sure that those programs are up to date. To see what
add-ins you curretly have installed go to Tools-> Options-> tab Other->
button Advanced E-mail Options...
