Why Logon Prompt When you open a blank database?

Could someone explain to me why a logon prompt comes up when my co-worker
open a blank access database? I thought that it would only prompt if they
open a database that I created with security. Is it because I had them join
my WIF?

The login is tied to the Workgroup file being used, not to the database you
are using. Have them join a workgroup that does not include any passwords
(system.mdw) if they want to use Access without the security.

Your secured applications should be started from a shortcut that includes
the path of the needed workgroup file. This will let them open your secured
databases with a workgroup without the need to make that their default
workgroup.

Please note, this is asked and answered all the time. In the future, I'd
suggest you search for your answers before posting a new thread. The
easiest way I have found is to go to www.google.com, click the "groups"
options, and enter a search string starting with the following...

microsoft.public.access

You always login when you start Access. By default, you
login in as Admin, with no password. If you change the
admin password, or remove the Admin user, or change
to a workgroup where Admin has a different password,
or the Admin user has been removed, Access won't
be able to automatically login: so you see the login prompt.
