Why is WIndows Explorer auto starting?

My computer has a built in compact flash reader. I have always kept the
flash card its slot. But beginning a week ago, for some unknown reason,
when I start the computer, Windows Explorer opens automatically and now
shows the contents of this drive. I don't want this to happen. Anyone know
how to turn it off? Thank you.

Start/My Computer/rightclick your reader drive/Properties/AutoPlay tab/select "Take no Action"/Apply/OK

Thanks for your response but this still doesn't solve it. I have disabled
autoplay for all the selections (Music, Pictures, Video, Mixed Files) but an
explorer-like window still opens up each time the computer boots or each
time I insert the flash card into that G: drive. There is an F: drive which
takes an SD card yet the F: slot does not misbehave. My problems began when
I was moving data between computers and hot swapping the Compact Flash.
Each time I inserted the flash card, XP would show a small window and ask
what action I wanted to take. I got tired if this so I set all file types
to "Take No Action." Now, no matter what I reset the AutoPlay to, I am
still getting a full blown explorer-like window as mentioned. Not the small
one that originally came up. And not a real Windows Explorer window because
it is ignoring my saved View options. Does this suggest anything else? It
is very annoying. Thank you again

I'm not the guy who you replied to, but i like to learn something once
in a while. When I right click on my hard drive inside of "My
Computer" & choose "Properties", the only tabs I see to choose are:

General, Tools, Hardware, Norton, Sharing, Quota

I can't find an "AutoPlay" tab.
???

Apparently the AutoPlay is just for removable media like your CD, flash
cards, etc.

tab/select "Take no Action"/Apply/OK
