I have had my laptop for just 6 months and when I shutdown Vista it takes for
ever. The only way it recovers is via blue screen where it does a physical
memory dump.

Does anyone know why this is and/or how to fix it???

HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?!

As I understand it, you are saying that the laptop is crashing to a blue
screen at shutdown. If that's the case, the STOP error that's listed is
extremely important to know. This will be visible on the screen, and also
in the Event Log.

To clarify: Why is "your" Vista 64 Bit so slow in shutting down.

My Vista 64 bit laptop shuts down within 15 seconds.

Your Vista 64 Bit machine has either: 1) damaged OS files from malware (or
lousy 3rd party software that damaged the OS) or 2) has hardware problems.
