why is the icon now blue ?

it was red then it changed ? any ideas ? probably
something very simple or maybe i am going colour blind ?

No, you're not going colorblind, you're using some type of terminal
services. Some call it a bug, but I think it was programmed
intentioanally and no one knows the reason for it. It does not
appear to effect the software in any way, and Microsoft is aware of
it.
