Why is the gmail server rejecting my password/user name?

I've had many error messages in last 4 days. Had run Outlook w/o problem for
years.

Per this group, I set up a new profile.

But gmail's server rejects my username and password.

I've restarted computer; re-entered gmail account, disconnected McAfee.

Please help. This process has taken hours.

Mostly Outlook prompts for password if the username/password (Same as your
webmail log in password) entered is incorrect or something within the
registry where it is not storing the passwords correctly.

You could check your account settings with the help of the link below-

Try changing the user name to complete email address or the first part and
check again.
