Why is the font saved in the theme not showing on my site?

I've saved the font throughout the theme format, but when I log into the
site, the wrong font is showing. I've cleared the server, then re-published,
but it doesn't work.

Check your browser settings, they may be changing the font for you. If this
is the case, remember that you have no control over how others see your
fonts. Only a few fonts are safe to use on your web site. By safe, I mean
that only a few may actually be seen by your viewers.

Chuck,

Thanks. I guess I'm confused about what will be seen by others, even though
I've chosen the font for the website. It shows in places (banner, linkbars)
but not in the body. It's different browser to browser as well.

Did you save the theme under a new name, remove the old theme and apply your newly modified theme?

I did. I've checked the site in different browsers and computers other than
that from which the site is published. I guess I don't understand why the
banner and side bar show the correct font and the body and elsewhere does
not.

Thanks.

Hi, Just a guess here, as I am a relative newbie to FP as well, but could
this be because you have a CSS attached that has the fonts set that you are
seeing, rather than the ones you want?

I could be a million miles off target here, but I did have to change a css
in a website I redesigned to overcome almost the exact same problem.

Is that obvious I'm new to this? :)

You could be onto something. I'll look through and see. I'm surprised that
it wouldn't save automatically when I changed and saved the theme. Worth a
try.

Thanks

Also CSS does not cascade into tables
So if you set a font for body also set the same font in your theme for td and th

This can't be unique to a couple of people. My site was published in HTML by
FTP originally. I now have to publish through FP 03...I have set all font
including default settings to Arial yet when I edit a page and publish it the
live site on any browser it comes back as Times Roman. Any Help out there
short of paying $99.00 to email a tech at MS? DR

Did you modify the theme, save it under a new name, remove the current theme and then apply the
newly modified theme, and then published all?

Setting the default font to Arial doesn't not make it the default for all text on a page
FP 2003 uses CSS to apply the themes
CSS does not cascade into some html block tags (notably tables from the Body tag)
So if you have any text in tables (say for page layout) it will not use the Body font specified (Arial) but instead will use the
browsers default font setting (in your case Times Roman)

Add your "default" font to the td, th and caption tags (and any other html tags you are using on your pages) by setting Format -
Theme - Customize - Text - More Text Styles (List - Html tags [select the tag] - Modify - Format - Font)

Tom, I did modify a table. This is a web another friend built. the tables are
nested so that may be the culprit. I did not not knowingly modify the current
theme.

Stefan, this seems to make more sense...thanks for the path. I will see if I
can apply it and fix the problem. Don
