Why is the advanced tab....

in properties for network connection missing? I can´t
turn the firewall off! and thus am unable to get my
network going (WXP + W98SE).Any assistance and help much
appreciated!

probably the administrator rights problem

You have ICS enabled on an Internet connection and this network connection
is the private connection.
You are using Windows XP Network Bridge and the connection is part of the
bridge.
You are using Windows XP Network Bridge and the connection is the Network
Bridge connection.
You are attempting to enable ICF on an incoming connection.
You have not logged on to the computer with an account that has
administrator rights.
You are attempting to enable ICF when Group Policy has disabled it.

can you post the results from this in a command window (Start/Run type cmd)

ipconfig /all

in the users accounts control panel, confirm that you are logged in with
administrator rights

notion of what´s going wrong.

These are the probable causes. Unfortunately, nothing is
said to how to correct them. Any suggestions on how-to?
