Why is Outlook very slow with any outgoing email over 100KB?

I am having trouble sending email with attachments that force the message to
be higher than 100KB, at other companies, we have been able to send and
receive up to 5MB to/from external emails and up to 10MB internally. How do i
change the configuration?

Are you sure your network infrastructure is capable of the bandwidth?
 
It should be, we are on broadband as far as web access and our Outlook
accounts are individual and not networked...any further ideas?
