Why is my meeting request showing up as an e-mail?

When I send a meeting request from my office outlook (Outlook 2002) to my
home Outlook (which, I believe, is also Outlook 2002), through my Comcast
e-mail system, the meeting request is converted to an email showing the
details of the meeting, but not giving me the option to accept/reject/propose
new time. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Force Rich Text Format when sending - double click the address, select
properties and change the format to Outlook Rich Text Format and not Let
Outlook decide the best format.
