We are trying to set up dial-in access for some users on
our Windows 2000 network. We already have some dial-in
enabled users who work fine, however we have run into
some snags with the more recent jobs.
In one case, the user uses his home phone line normally
for dial-up Internet access. He can surf the net for
hours with no problem. We connected our laptop at his
home, dialled in to our network OK, but whenever starting
an application (via Citrix client), the connection drops
out. We have brought the same laptop back to head office,
logged on as the same user and been able to run
applications with no problems at all. (We have actually
had this scenario for 2 users now)
Everything is pointing to him having a less-than-perfect
telephone line, but if this was the case, wouldn't he be
having trouble surfing the net? Is there something about
Windows/Citrix that makes it more sensitive to telephone
line noise than normal ISP surfing?
I'd be pulling my hair out over this if I had any left.
Any ideas gratefully received.
