I have recently purchased a computer with WinXP, SP-2. I installed Office
'97, but when I attempted to set up my email in Outlook, there was no option
for Internet Mail. I reinserted the installation disc to install the option,
but Internet Mail does not show as an option, only network related mail
options. I can insert this same disc into my Win '98 computer, and the
option is not only available, it is part of the standard installation.
Outlook Help says the Internet Mail option is a "Minet.ecf" file. When I do
a "find" on XP, it shows the file, but apparently can't read it (?). This is
a single user computer; no network. I have switched my email to Outlook
Express, which works fine, but I don't like it as well. I have a relative
who had a similar problem with his copy on another brand computer, running
XP. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
