Why is IE 6.0 suddently such a long time to start up ?

Thomas

I have this big problem with my IE 6.0. I have had IE 6.0 for a long time
without any problems but the last week it has been very slow to start up and
every time I want to open a new browser (when I for instance want to have
multiple IE 6.0-browsers running) the same slow startup occurs. When the
browser is loaded it has no problems finding pages and I have no problems
navigating around. And a link in one browser, that opens a new browser - for
instance an article in a newspaper - does not create the long startup. This
new browser opens right away. So I hope someone can tell me what could be
wrong, because I have spend a lot of nights trying to figure it out and it
is driving me nutttsss. I have recently installed Directx ver. 9 and have
Norton Antivirus, so a virus should not be the problem.

I am sorry if any of my English is spelled wrong. I'm from Denmark so....

Really hope someone can help me....even if her name is Rhonda....if You are
reading this..."help me Rhonda...help help me Rhonda"

Sincerely
Thomas

1. Run HijackThis again. When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will
change into a "Save Log" button. Click: "Save Log" (generates
"hijackthis.log").

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location: Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support.
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/index.php?s=8a236cdf61469fbad3bddbe810be0374&act=SF&f=11

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.

2. Google Toolbar is a known troublemaker. Uninstall it or at least read
this reply from Google received by another poster:

We suspect the PageRank feature on the Google
Toolbar is incompatible with some aspect of your computer system. Users who
work behind a proxy or firewall often encounter these types of difficulties.
Unfortunately, we do not have a solution to offer at the present time. That
said, disabling the Toolbar's Advanced Features should return your browsing
behavior to normal.

To make this change, go to the Google drop-down menu and click on 'Privacy
Information.' Uncheck the box next to the option 'Enable Advanced
Features.'
</paste>

3. I also *strongly* urge you to go to Windows Upate (anti-virus application
turned off, please) and install the latest critical security patches (at
least). A new Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer was released today.

4. Update your virus definitions and run a full system scan afterwards.
