Brian
My wife and I have a computer each, connected to each other by ethernet and
via a router to the internet. The problem occured on my wife's new PC when I
migrated all her stuff over from her old one which ran Outlook 2000 under
W98. She has three e-mail accounts and I was able to set up two of them but
when I setup the third, Outlook 2003 did its Test Settings thing,
It established a network connection
Found the outgoing mail server SMTP
Found the incoming mail server POP3
and logged on to the incoming mail server POP3
But when it tried to send a test message it failed and gave the error
message :-
"Some errors occurred while processing the tests. Please review the list of
errors below for more details. If the problems persist after taking the
suggested actions, please consult your Internet Service Provider."
"Send e-mail message. The specified server was found, but there was no
response from the server. Pease verify that the port and SSL information is
correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then click More Settings
and click on the Advanced tab."
This error message was of no help as all the settings I put in (treble
checked) were identical to those used for some years under Outlook 2000.
Hope you can help please
