Why don't more video cards have video IN

There is a whole smattering of video cards with useless features like
dual monitor support with I personally don't care for or need.

Why are there not more low end video cards with useful features like
video IN. That way I can put taped TV shows onto disc for storage.

If they included video in capabilities they wouldn't be low end
anymore... ;-)

It's still a niche feature which is not worth the added
component, design and support software costs to include in a
mainstream card.

Anybody who wants to do video capturing would probably rather have a
dedicated device for it. Pick the best unit for each purpose, rather
than getting an all-in-one device that does lots of things, but none of
them very well.
