I just passsing through this group, but I'm not happy.

I've got every conceivable variant of certain key spam words covered in
outlook express rules, and STILL stuff is gettting through. I'm not talking
about the contents of the spam, I'm talking about the subject line. If I
put in a rule saying "delete all mail containing 'viagra' in the subject
field", I don't expect to get a mail with viagra in the subject field
anytime after that showing in my inbox

But I do.

I know there are also sorts of variants and intentional mis-spellings, but
I've got all bases covered. I've even pruned the rule database taking out
duplicate entries etc.

Am I missing something?

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the
Office
family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

If it's HTML mail then the spammers may be doing this:

via<!--vergbqe[bg[qe]bqib]ib]jb-->gra

which displays only viagra as the <!----> is an HTML comment and is not
visible.
