Why doesn't the Command Button Wizard allow DELETE queries anymore?

In Access '95 and'97 any query in the database could be
picked when using the Command Button Wizard to add a
command button to run a query on a form.

In Access 2000 DELETE QUERIES DO NOT APPEAR in the window
where you select the query that you want to run from the
command button that the wizard is creating. The Wizard (I
think it is in ACWZMAIN.MDE) is probably filtering the
hidden system table that contains the names of all of the
queries so users can't make a button to run a delete
query. That's bogus.

HOW CAN I MODIFY THE COMMAND BUTTON WIZARD TO ALLOW DELETE
QUERIES TO BE RUN FROM A GENERATED COMMAND BUTTON?

I use this feature every day and have done so for many
years.

Thanks,

You can't modify it - it *is* contained within the MDE file that you
referenced - but you could create your own wizards (see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/odeopg/html/deovraccesswizards.asp).
This wizard helps with opening a select query - it does not accomodate action
queries.

Isn't it about time that you learn to use VBA so that you won't need the wizard?
I find the wizards to be a slow means of writing sloppy code - no offense
intended, of course.
