Why does typing "C" followed by "A", combine the letters?

Within PowerPoint 2003, when I type "C" followed by "A" such as in the word
"Application" it combines the letters into a conjoined "ca"... This occurs
only in the heading field of a slide. I cannot "un-autoformat" this change.

Any ideas on how to rid my presentation of this?

Thanks,

JJ,

It's probably some kind of 'auto correct' feature of powerpoint - (trying to
be helpful)

It does not have this behaviour on my system. But I have a lot of the auto
stuff turned off

have a look in

tools > autocorrect > and then either of these 2 tabs

'auto format as you type'

and

autocorrect

That could be a font problem. Which font do you use in your presentation?
Have a look at Format - Replace Fonts. If there is any font in the top list
with an question mark ("?"), this font is not installed on your computer and
could cause these problems. You should either install it or replace it.

And even if you do not intend to print your presentation: Do you have a
local standard printer installed?

Thanks for the help on this...

I have tried turning off all of the "Auto-correct" features. No luck.

Interestingly enough, the "ca" combination only appears as I am editing the
slides. I started the show and "Application" displays correctly, until I go
back to edit the slides.

I am using Arial as my font, nothing fancy.

I have used PPT for a long time, and this is a first! I'm not that
surprised, though.

Thanks for the help!
