At what point are you getting this message...before the splash screen or
during? There are a lot of reasons why you might get a Stop 7B. You may
have to run chkdsk on your drive (boot into a recovery console and then run
chkdsk). It might be driver related (incorrect mass storage drivers
loaded). If it's a compaq, maybe try replacing the drivers from the latest
from the Compaq PL Support Pack.
