Why does the Compressed (zipped) Folder function NOT compress folders/files with commas?

Is anyone aware of a limitation with the Compressed (zipped) Folder functionality in Windows XP where it will NOT compress any files which contain a comma in the file name? I have run some quick tests and apparently it will not compress files which contain a comma in the filename. What is worse is that it does not warn you of this problem. It simply continues to zip up the all other files WITHOUT WARNING.

Let me clarify this bug somewhat. The Compressed (zipped) Folder WILL compress files and folders which have commas withing their name. BUT if you in turn use the Windows XP Compress (zipped) Folder to Open that compressed archive then Windows XP WILL NOT show those files with commas in the file name. Try the following little experiment. Create the following files in a temporary directory, like C:\Windows\Temp\CommaTst

Comma,butshort.tx
NoComma.tx
There is multiple, commas, in this, filename, and it is very, very, long.tx
There is only one comma, but the filename is very long.tx
Two,Commas,short.tx

Now select all these files and then right-click and choose Send To Compressed (zipped) Folder. Windows XP will create a zipped archive with a filename of the last selected file (or it will invoke the Compressed (zipped) Folder wizard. Just follow the steps and create a zipped archive in this folder). Now create a subfolder off the current directory, like Extract, and copy the zipped archive to this directory. If the default tool to compress/decompress zipped archive is the Windows XP Compressed (zipped) Folder, then you should be able to simply double-click on the zipped archive and Windows XP will bring up another Explorer folder with the containts of the zipped archive. If Windows XP does not do this or if you have already installed a third-party zip utility which is default, then selecting the newly created zipped archive, right click on it and select Open With and then select Compressed (zipped) Folder as the tool to open the zipped archive. If Compressed (zipped) Folder does not appear in you list then choose Choose Program ... and select Compressed (zipped) Folder from the list (it should be under Recommended Programs)

Now you should note that opened Windows XP Explorer window ONLY displays NoComma.txt and not any of the files which contain a comma within it's name

You can even use a third party tool to create the archive but if you use Compressed (zipped) Folder to decompress or extract the files then, again, Windows XP Explorer window will ONLY display files or folders which do NOT conatin commas in their filename

If you run this test and get different results, or know which setting in Windows XP to correct for this, please post
