Why do the 16bit installers not work under Windows XP Service Pack 2?
Does SP3 need a better emulator?

Works fine unless something is wrong with your computer.

I have seen problems (like you describe) when the autoexec.nt file is
coprrupt/missing (sometimes caused by a virus/malware.)

If autoexec.nt is missing from the windows\system32 folder

have a look in the Windows\repair folder

then copy it from the repair folder to the system32 folder

Hello, I checked the file, it is there and not corrupt....any thaughts?

What error do you fet when trying to install the 16bit application?
And which application? I believe that serveral 16bit applications
maybe "known" to not install in XP.

Yeah, It's "The SIMS" by Maxis and "Webster" by Xara. No error just nothing
after running the Setup, even applying the maunual install technique doesn't
work. No message on the screen, no window created, just an inactive 16bit
process and "wowexec".
