Why does spell checker shut down my wp9 documents?

This has been happening for several years. I write an entire document in wp9, then click tools, spell check, and wp freezes up, and I have to exit. Can anyone tell me what the problem is

Good question for WordPerfect support - have you asked them yet?

That would be one reason why you should save "on the fly" or use an autosave
setting.

their products. WordPerfect is made by Corel, not Microsoft.

Thank you for your help! I have tried several times, with that
website, but will keep trying.
