Up until recently everything was working perfectly. Suddenly, every time I
open a new or an old powerpoint presentation and I click in a text box
(either empty or not) powerpoint crashes and I get the message "Microsoft
Office PowerPoint has enountered a problem and needs to close" and then an
error report is sent but I have received no solution back. I have tried to
reinstall office, check for updates, fix erros... Nothing worked. HELP!

I would do two things.

1. Find and delete your *.PCB file. This is the PPT toolbar. PPT will
recreate it when you start it again. You'll lose any customizations you may
have made.

2. Disable all add-ins and see if PPT works. If so, then you can re-enable
the add-ins one at a time until you can isolate the problem add-in. See What
add-ins are loaded? http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00655.htm

Thanks for the response.

I tried the first thing. It did not work.

I then tried the second, found the add-ins, but when I tried to find them on
the computer, I could not. I ran a search... nothing!

Help!!!

Well, you gotta give us something to go on.

What add-ins were reported?

None of the above would normally be installed in PowerPoint 2003; why they're
there I don't know, but I'm guessing that your computer may have gotten an
upgrade install from Office 97 at some point. The addins listed were all part
of Office 97 but not later versions.

Sine you have the paths to each of the files, quit PPT, locate and rename each
of the files; for example, change the last character of the extension (PPA,
PWZ) to B for Backup (-->PPB, PWB). That way you can get them back if you need
to for some reason. Then start PPT again, see if it behaves better.

The COM addins are normal except for the BlueTooth one; if the suggestions
above don't help, you may want to try disabling the bluetooth addin, whatever
it is.
