i have 2 sites on our server. now i am creating a 3rd using frontpage and
tried to publish it and it overwrote most if not all of our main (1st) site.
not all aspects were changed mostly theme and some of the content. almost a
merge if you will. we are running IIS 6.0 on the server and i am using FP03
iwas able to get the main site back up (good thing i have backups) by
disabling site on server in IIS. what am i doing wrong or forgot?! thanks in
advance

How are you publishing it? If you're using the "Publish" command, it will
publish to the last site you published to, overwriting what was already
there.

If you use "File | Publish Site", you put in the correct website URL that
you want to publish to.

i did that i have a site called "irrigationautomation.com" and i tried to
publish a site called municipalautomation.com they both are on our server
with the same static IP i tell it to publish to second address but it goes to
the first. i also have a third site which remains unaffected. hmmmm my desk
is getting a big dent from banging my head on it! do i need to modify my DNS
records or setup a sub-domain?

If it is the same static IP then it is the same site with two urls. you
probably need a subweb.

IIRC, host headers should take care of this issue, but the OP will have to
do some research or talk with the host.
