Why does my website appear differently on different monitors?

When I published my website and opened it, it appeared exactly as I expected;
but when my co-workers opened the website, the contents were skewed. They do
have different (smaller) monitors than I do, but we are using the same
browser.

How wide is the browser viewing area (the viewport) on the different
screens? What text size is selected in the different browsers?

Post a link to your page, and I can tell you more....

You said it: They do have different (smaller) monitors.

Tip: test vewing of your pages at diffrent screen settings, and
w/diffrent browsers.

Actually, all you need to do is to resize your browser viewport. Of course
if you are on a 640x480 screen to begin with this won't be too helpful. But
if you are (more likely) on 1280x1024, you can see exactly how your page
will behave by just running the width of your viewport down to about 760px
(hint - get a screen ruler).
