Why does my send/receive button not work?

All of a sudden my send/receive button does not work. I use a MailWasher Pro
filter. I've checked all settings in both MailWasher and Outlook --
everything seems correct. I did receive an email this morning from someone
and got the message that Outlook was unavailable and I was being switched to
Word for an email editor.
Can anyone help me?

Got a version for that Outook? Are you using a POP account?
