Howdy folks,

This has been annoying me for a few weeks now.

I can be playing a game, doing some work, whatever and my laptop just freezes and i have to reboot.

I've run virus scans, spyware scans, defragged etc etc, but still it happens occasionally and as you understand it's annoying.

Any thoughts?

Have you had a look at the power management settings? They can cause all sorts of lovely issues on laptops!

Might be worth disabling Pwr Mgmt for a while and see if that makes any difference.

Hmmm, i'll give that a bash when i get home tonight.

Are there any tried and trusted seeetings? - Or best to knock it off completely?

First off I would suggest knocking it off completely, then if that fixes it, you can start switching things back on one by one to isolate the problem.

Ok, now i'm baffled - i have just uninstalled Rise Of Nations on the laptop, as i just don't play it any more, and for some strange reason it's not locked up since...fingers crossed!

Wonder why that was though...strange...very strange.

Could have been a software conflict I suppose, one reason why I tend to use seperate computers for gaming and work;)

Hmmm could be i guess, yet i have Civ3 and Championship Manager 5 running smooth as.

Possibly a dodgy install of Rise of Nations from the kick off?

Maybe, probably never know for sure- as long as you get no more lock-ups thats the main thing..:thumb:
