when i print my folded booklet the font becomes so small I can hardly read it.
what must i do to keep the same font size i typed it in.

I assume you used the BookFold feature of Word. When you do this, Word
shrinks the page from the default 8.5x11 (in US) so that it will fit on
a half-sheet of paper and allow you to fold it over.

You can start with larger font.

Actually, when you use "Book fold," there is no shrinkage in the font size,
only in the page size; you create a full-size half-page from the get-go. If
you use "2 pages per sheet" in the Print dialog, selecting pages as required
to create a booklet, then they will be shrunk.
