completely goes off. the light in the front of the computer flashes yellow

this newsgroup deals with questions about MS Access relational database
software. suggest you post your question in a Windows newsgroup, or have
your friend contact Dell directly if the problem is product-related.

Try:
microsoft.public.de.german.entwickler.einsteiger
....is as good a guess as any newsgroup.

Alright, alright, try one of the microsoft.public.win* newsgroups.
WHY DID YOU ASK THIS NEWSGROUP?

You are in the wrong message board, but I still may be able to help. This may
sound like a weird question, but what is your friend using as a surge
protector? It is one of those surge protector strip thingers that is just a
row of outlets? If so, this may not be good enough. Many newer computers need
more power than a normal surge protector can provide. Your friend may need to
get a battery pack/surge protector.

I had a similar problem several years ago when I bought a new computer. It
sounded crazy to me since my old computer always worked just fine on the
surge protector, but I bought a battery pack and the problem was fixed.
Other than that, you are going to have to be A LOT more specific. This is a
very common problem. It could have a stiffling amount of different possible
causes and solutions. Any details you can give would help to get to the
bottom of it in this case.
