Why Does MBAM Use So Much Memory?

Had this question because MBAM constanly uses 90,000k of mem on my
XPHome SP3 system which is way more than Avast and everything else I
have installed. Saw this answer in their forum:

"The reason it uses so much RAM is because it loads the detection
database into memory. That being said, we do plan on looking into ways
of optimizing it and reducing the overall RAM usage by the protection
module in the future, however that's likely going to take a
considerable amount of time for development as well as benchmarking
assuming we are successful so I can't provide any ETA at this time on
when such improvements might take place."

Now wondering why did they design it this way?

Well.. Originally, it wasn't resident; that feature came sometime later.
As a result, the database.. ehh, has to be .. ehm, modified to be
friendlier towards system resources. Seriously ****ing modified that is.
LOL. No, you won't be seeing a good reduction in resources short of an
overhaul at the low level in malwarebytes software. It's the only way it
can be ehh, fixed.

So, just forget about it. lol.
