All updates from either the members or the owner are moved into a hidden folder when they are
delivered and processed there roughly every 30 seconds when Outlook is idle. When processed,
messages are placed automatically into the correct folder.
There has been documentation referencing NetFolders taking up to several hours to properly update.
There are a lot of uknowns from machine to maching (processing speed, idle time, network speed, etc)
that all play a factor in NetFolder data processing. Due to some insonsistencies such as the one you are
describing, this is not a recommended feature as it has been discontintued on the later versions (Outlook
2002 and 2003.)

Subject: Why does it take so long to send Calendar updates?

I just re-shared my wife's calendar (had to re-install Outlook 2000) and
that went smoothly. But when it sent out 100 or so updates (to make 1600
calendar appts) it took a very long time--about 90 min. Since each update
was about 40-50kb, I don't understand why it so long to send them all.
Anyone know why? I am on dial-up.
