Why does it say -1901 MHz when it's a 2.6?

Trying to play BF1942 and am having problems. Printed out the specs and for some reason under CPU it is saying -1901 MHz , so it doesn't seem to think that my machine is fast enough. what is going on? Do I need to upgrade my NT to service pack 2 or higher?

Do you have an AMD?

More info on your computer and OS might help...

No it says "GenuineIntel Pentium IV"
But I just noticed that it also says CPU count: 2

Maybe something in the BIOS needs changing (if you have a Pentium).

Look at motherboard manual and be sure the front side bus (FSB) is set to
133 MHz, and not 100 MHz.

FSB set to wrong speed?

Neither of these will affect/effect the MHz/GHz speed on the CPU - only the
Front Side Bus (FSB) speed and/or one of its multipliers in the BIOS/CMOS.

I agree, but is it the game or XP reporting the the
difference. If XP and the bios are both reporting the
slower speed, then yes your right on. On the other hand,
if the game is reporting the slower speed, with XP and
the bios both reporting 2.6GHz, he might just need to
reinstall the game or contact the games customer support
web site.
Also, even with a P4 at 1.9Ghz the game should be
playable. So, I decided the two updates might just help
get the game up and running.

Messing around with the FSB and multipliers can be a
dangerous proposition for an inexperienced users system.

There is a free program called wcpuid.exe that can be
downloaded off the web.
