Troubleshooting can be a long process or trial and
elimination. The worst thing is that there can be more than
one cause.
First make the machine as perfect mechanically as you can.
Second make the software run properly on the local machine
Last make the Internet work, this is dependent on the whole
system being correct, so use the ping and tracert tools and
several different on-line monitors.
You can get various tools, some for free,to check the total
system. Sourceforge.net has a wide range of tools and
software that can help you.
http://sourceforge.net/
Also I have nice results from the programs at
http://www.freshdevices.com/
You can do on-line scans at
www.pcpitstop.com and they
suggest fixes for found problems.
Good luck.
