Why does inserted video sometimes stop playing

Hi,
No-one has ever managed to answer this, but I'll give it one more try.

I often insert movies captured and produced with Camtasia into PowerPoint
using [Insert]-[Object]-[Create from File], linking the video object and
showong an icon for it on the slide. I produced the movies using the standard
Microsoft codec.

More often than not (in slide show mode) the movie plays from beginning to
end, but sometimes the same movie bombs out partway through, seemingly at
random, and I have to restart it. I haven't touched any keys while the movie
is playing.

This happens quite frequently with different movies and not just to me.

I have XP and Powerpoint 2002 (all latest updates applied).

This is kind of embarrassing when I am in full flow in front of an audience,
so I will appreciate any suggestions.

Count me in. Haven't a clue myself, but I've found the folks at TechSmith
(Camtasia's developer) to be quite responsive. You might want to report this to
them, maybe send a sample presentation or two and system specs, see what they
have to say.
