My I.E. 6 keeps dropping out on me. Suddenly I lose all
abiltiy to search the internet, my yahoo messenger goes
down, my weathernet goes down and I have absolutely no
access to the internet.
I reboot, over and over again and I.E. will not come on.
I shut down, wait for a few minutes and then boot up
again, it won't come on. Finally, I reboot, then after a
10 or 15 min wait, I.E. might decided to start up.
Help, I have no idea what to do, have no contact with
anyone who might even have any ideas and I am totally
lost. Why does my I.E. keep doing this?
Oh, when this first starting happening, I finally gave
up and deleted everything and recovered my original
programming from my Gateway Recover Disk. I thought this
would take care of the problem. It didn't. I'm back up and
going again and once again, I.E. has started acting up
again.

Have a look at this article.

The AutoDial Procedure Stops If You Quit Internet Explorer
When Internet Explorer performs an AutoDial procedure, the Internet Explorer
window and the Dial-Up Connection dialog box are displayed. If you configure
the AutoDial feature to automatically connect, the AutoDial procedure
starts. When this occurs, you can quit Internet Explorer. If you do this,
the Dial-Up Connection dialog box closes. Because the connection is not
established, the modem dials, negotiates line speed, and then stays
connected until an Internet service provider (ISP) timeout occurs and quits
the connection.
