why does Firefox 1.0 conflict w. WYSIWYG forum sites?

Does anyone know why the Firefox 1.0 browser conflicts so seriously
with several several sites using WYSIWYG editors: typepad.com (blog
service), http://democrats.com/forum & http://forum.mamboserver.com/ .
I don't understand where the conflict lies & whether there's anything
you can do to resolve it.

I'm on a pc, windows xp.
