Why does a new window pop up in different sizes?

When I open up a new IE6 window by clicking on a link (or
right-clicking and choosing "open in new window") there doesn't seem
to be a rhyme or reason to the size of the new window. Is there a
setting somewhere to force a new window to always open full-screen, or
a certain size, or what? What determines the size of a newly-opened
window?

It should open to the same size & position on the screen as it was before
you closed it.
However, I believe there's a setting before that can occur.

Tools | Internet Options | ......

Open a new window from a link that launches one. Close all previous IE
windows. Do not click the Maximize button. Drag the edges to resize the IE
window open as large as you want, then while holding SHIFT down, close the
window by the "x". This should maintain the new window size between
sessions.

New windows are not truly maximized, but can be set to nearly so by the
method above.

Or you could try this little utility:

IE New Window Maximizer 2.3

Nope, didn't work. Still can't make things open larger. Thanks for
trying, though.
