When I enter a new appointment, I have to wait until Outlook goes out to the
Internet and returns. I have home edition & work alone. How can I turn this
off?

Thank you in advance.

It's a POP3 account or ...?
Are you publishing your Calendar online or publishing free/busy information
online?
Outlook should not connect to the internet when you make an appointment
unless you have data that resides on the internet.

I have DSL Internet access provided by Qwest. My email is provided by
Earthlink.

It is a POP3 account with Earthlink. I am not intentionally "publishing", and
have looked at several tools/options to check boxes to not "share" anything.
Perhaps I am missing an option to say "do not publish"?
I appreciate your assistance. THANK YOU!

This is Outlook 2007?
What tells you Outlook is going to the Internet?
