Why do report numbers in Forms keep changing

I have over 400 reports stored in Forms. When I move from Forms to Report to
print, and then back into Forms, a record that was initially on page 56 is
now on page 182. The Table number nor the report number changes, only the
number assigned in the forms area. How do I keep the form number set?

What is a "table number" or a "report number" or a "form number"?

If you print a report several times, the data should always be in the same
order and on the same pages unless you make some change to the data or the
report layout. How is your report sorted? Whichever field you select as
your sort is what will be used. Your forms may or may not sort in the same
order. YOU control how each object sorts the records.

As far as the "number", if you are talking about the record number that is
an internal item that Access uses. You should not be using that for
anything. If you want to assign a control number to each record, then you
need to add a field to your table in which that number is stored.
