Why do my Label templates no longer show up?

I have a folder containing many files of frequently used labels. In the past,
whenever I went back to these files the template was visible, which allowed
me to reposition the address for my partially used sheets of labels. But now,
the template doesnt show up on any of my label files. This is a big
time-consuming hassle. Does anyone know how to get the templates to show up
in these files again?

You're lucky that my mind-reading machine is working today, or I
wouldn't have any idea what you're talking about. In Word, a
"template" is a type of file used as the base for new documents.

What you're describing is probably the gridlines that surround the
labels so you can see their edges. A label document is really just a
page containing a table whose cells match the size of the labels.

If you have Word 2003 or earlier, click Table > Show Gridlines.

If you have Word 2007, click the Table Tools tab on the ribbon (which
appears only when the cursor is in a table), and the Layout tab under
that. Click the View Gridlines button at the left end.

This setting should stay until you change it, through different
documents and through restarts.
