Why do Inbox msgs disappear on "Forward"

Feel like I'm missing something here but I've been through the Outlook
2000 Help files and all the menu options and can't find a switch that
would cause my "Forwarded" messages to disappear on Send. Would
appreciate any advice on what could be causing this.

Recently, Outlook started dumping each message from my Inbox after it
is "Forwarded". I've used Office for years and never had this happen
before. The dumped message is not in the Deleted folder. Any ideas?

It's OL 2000, SP3 running under Win2000 Pro.

Sorry for the second post on same subject. Seems not many people
actually reply on this forum although many ask questions. My question
of a few hours ago is already way down on the second page with almost
none of the posts actually receiving replies. The Compuserve Outlook
forum seems to work a lot better with questions answered within minutes
but it's going to take me a week or two to get signed up w/ Compuserve.

Check your view, it might be set to unread messages.

As for why posts aren't always answered, many of the people who answer
posts, do so in the evenings and early in the morning (rather than during
the day at work). So it might take a little bit before someone responds. It
also helps to get a response if you can always include the version of
Outlook and OS. Many people don't.

Thanks for your very quick response and explanation. Sorry if I sounded
so frantic. View is set to "Messages" not "Unread Messages" so it
must be something else.

Most of the funny stuff started happening after I installed Plaxo
(double messages arriving sometimes and sometimes not, messages
disappearing after Forwarding). Plaxo is uninstalled although it's the
neatest idea I've ever seen and one I'd be glad to pay for if enough
people start using it. Plaxo support, of course, said the double
messages had nothing to do with them but the double messages weren't
received on my laptop which did not have Plaxo installed. But, one
problem at at time, I'm just trying to figure out why my Inbox messages
are disappearing after a Forward. It doesn't appear to be an easy
answer.

Hmmm, ok, well, check the filter settings on the view as well. View, Current
View, Customize Currnet View and click the Filter button. MAke sure there is
no filter.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest creating a new profile.

The filter is "Off". So next is a new profile. I'll read up on that in
HELP. Couple of questions. Will the existing INBOX (approx 4,000
messages and all my archived messages be unaffected?) Are there any
major considerations for starting a new profile? Thanks again for
your help.
Once again, the only message that disappears is the actual message
that I am forwarding. All other messages are unaffected. But the only
way to hang onto that message is to include myself in all Forwards.
