Why do I get this message when I try to Import a avi file on pc..

The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download
codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box.

Does the file actually play in WMP? If not, you'll need the correct codec
installed first, once it will play in WMP, then you should be able to import
it to Windows Movie Maker.

Chances are pretty good what you need are the DIVX codecs, you'll find them
at www.divx.com. Unless you need to convert files to divx, all you need is
the free codec pack.
