Everytime I click something in Microsot Office, like in Word, it says
whatever I'm trying to do is not installed, would you like to install it now?
And so I click yes, but it always comes back after a few minutes and says
error, something about file could not be found, must insert office disk with
front page on it, or something like that so I've inserted disk one and two
from where I first installed Office, but neither one works, does anyone know
how I can fix it? Oh, it's not everytime I click anything, it's only some
things I click, like when I tried to change the office assistant from a paper
clip to something else.

Insert the disk and let it install (whatever it is) that it's trying to
install. Obviously somewhere along the track your Frontpage or MS Office
installation failed to complete properly.

You've pointed out the "Office Assistant" issue, trying to install the
animated characters like "Clippy" or the dog or cat etc.
For Eg. the office assistant animated character - I think "Clippy" (the
animated paper clip office assistant character) is the only one installed by
default; if you want the dog or the cat or any of the others, you need to
install those.....it would have been done as a "custom" installation at the
time of installing (if you'd known that at the time), and you wouldn't have
the current problem.

So, insert the disk, and see if it installs the other office assistants
and/or whatever else doesn't seem to function (e.g. some templates in
Publisher may not be installed by default - if you use the "default"
installation, it only installs the minimum required files plus a few
templates, but if you want Publisher's full range of templates, you'd do a
"custom" install.

I hope you understand what I'm getting at....perhaps you can do the "repair"
from the Help menu in for instance, MS Word.

As a last resort, do a resintall of the entire thing, this time choosing
"custom" installation.
