Why do dates appear twice at top of calendar?

Originaly the name of the day did not appear on my calendar. I read a tip to
enter DDDD into the Long Date field under Regional and Languages in Control
Panel.
This fixed that problem, but now the date is appearing twice in each day box
on screen and also when the calendar prints -including the bold week dates at
top of page. Any help would be appreciated.

Delete the entry in your Regional Settings and reenter it.

Dear Milly
I take it back, it has suddenly started working. I had restarted my system
with no change, but then just after I sent the last message I went into
Tools, Options and when I returned the duplicate date had disappeared.
