WE WANT TO TAKE OUR PERSONAL CONTACTS AND PUT THEM INTO BCM CONTACTS AND USE
THAT DB FOR EXCHANGE. YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD WORK AND ON MICROSOFTS FRONT
PAGE, THE QUESTION WAS ASKED AND THEY SAID IT WOULD WORK WITH EXCHANGE AND IT
DOESNT. JUST ASK
WWW.INTERMEDIA.NET, THE LARGEST MICROSOFT HOSTING OUT
THERE. ITS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT HACKS.
I remember that when BCM v1 came out, they said that less than 5% of
small businesses used Exchange, so they were concentrating on the 95%
that used POP3 for their email. Then with V1 SP1 BCM added support for
Outlook accounts with Exchange servers in their profiles. So far, BCM
has not added features that would only work with Exchange.
I suspect that with all the hosted Exchange services available, more
small businesses use Exchange these days. As the BCM installed base
grows, so does the number of users with Exchange, so perhaps someday
there will be a version of BCM hosted on the Exchange server. I read
somewhere that Exchange is moving towards using Sql Server as a store,
which should make BCM on Exchange easier to implement. Exchange will
probably have to get involved too. So you should let BCM know that
Exchange support is important to you, and also let Exchange know that
support for BCM is desired.
Shouting in a public newsgroup may be cathartic, but does not move
things along.
