When I upgraded from outlook 2000 to 2002: I click on Contacts and it says
"Unable to display folder. The folder is full."

where did all my contacts go?

When I do a Find / Search In: "Contacts" I can see all my contacts

Address book is empty

just before I upgraded, I exported my contacts to a Windows CSV file, but I
cant import it

Help!

How did you migrate your data when you upgraded?
Upgrade installations do not work with Outlook unless you create a new
profile after the upgrade.

Thanks Russ...

I exported the contacts to a .csv flat file. Can I copy it to a diff folder
so Outlook 2002 will see it?

What if I re-install Outlook 2000 and start over: How should I archive /
Export / save/...the Contacts+Email, etc so I will have all appear correctly
in 2002?

I also tried syncing my old IPAQ and told it to send all "new" contacts to
the PC, but all contacts were synced: The contacts were there, I just cant
see them...

Also, I did a "Find" the letter "a" in the Contacts Folder and could see a
huge pile of contacts come up in the results window..they look good there too!

You should simply save your Outlook data file. Then create a new profile and
set it to use your previous data file. These instructions work for Outlook
2002:

Thank You for the reply...

How to "simply save"? In Outlook 2000, do I

1) Export to a file...if so which format? I already have it in Win .csv

2) Archive to a .pst...I did that and got a 216Meg file

3) Do both, because I will need both?

Do you have instructions for creating a new profile in 2002?

Just copy your Outlook Data File (PST File) like the article tells you.
There's also a lot of information here:
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm

The instructions for creating profiles vary with each version of Outlook so
here are some links to articles that explain how to create a new Outlook
profile:
Outlook 2003, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;829918
Outlook 2002, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;287072
Outlook 2000, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;195718
