Why did Access stop defaulting to current year when entering a dat

We have a database we have been using for 3 years and this situation just
occurred. There is a form that has 2 date fields formatted as Short Date -
until today, when we entered the date we would just enter the month and day
and Access would "assume" the current year. Now for no apparent reason, if
we don't enter MM-DD-05, it is defaulting to 2002.

Is there a setting that can be changed to fix this? I have looked but can't
find anything. Thanks.

Very odd.

Any chance that computer's clock is set to 2002?

If not, is there anything in the Format or Input Mask of the text box on the
form where you see this behavior, or in the Format or Input Mask of the
table where the field is?
