Why couple of my slides continiously blink in normal view?

Hi!

I've made several slides in my presentation. It includes only one slide
master. Then, after reopenning the presentation I noticed that some slides
keep continuously blinking like if they're refreshing. It takes about 30 sec
until they stop blinking. While that I can't work on my file, I just have to
wait until it stops doing that. What could be the reason and how to get rid
of such annoying effect.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reply!

The thing is that the presentation worked perfect. Only two or three files
started to blink after I've made changes to a slide master. Most of my slides
(about 40) work fine, only a couple (same type images and text like in other
slides) keep blinking for about 30-40 sec. Once such slide stops blinking I
can go ahead with editting, however, as soon as I reach another "buggie"
slide the same story happens. Blinking - actually seems like the slide keeps
refreshing, but it just takes sooooo long!

This often happens with gradients and/or transparencies. It also happens
sometimes when you have certain programs running in the background. I know I
experienced a tremendous increase in this behavior once when I had SETI
running in the background.

One of those reasons might be why you've just started seeing it recently.

As Glenna mentioned, turning down hardware acceleration a couple notches
usually resolves it.

Thank you!

That's right! It happens only with slides where I use transparencies. I got
rid of transparent graphics and it works fine now!
Thanks again!

That's a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Transparencies
can be very useful and just deleting all of them is an over-reaction.

The simple solution is to turn down the graphics hardware acceleration a
notch. You *can* remove all transparencies from your current presentation,
but you'll be back asking the same question the next time you use one of
them. That's why Echo offered the solution instead of just a fix (she's
kinda real smart like that).

Have you set back graphics hardware acceleration?
