Why can't Outlook 2003 read the registry information?

Outlook 2003 will often give me the error message "Outlook can't read
registry infomation. Please reinstall." I have tried everything I know to to
except using the system restore disks for my compute and starting over. Has
anyone had this problem?
 
that could mean a problem with the registry - What version of windows? did
you recently have problems with user accounts or make changes to the user
account?

Thank you Diane for your quick response. I have a sneaking suspicion that
you are correct about the problem with the registry. I have considered using
a registry cleaner but am wary of that. I am using Windows XP Professional
with SP2. I noticed the error message when I right clicked on an email and
tried to "Find all messages from this sender". With regard to user accounts,
in the process of trying to fix this problem I deleted my DSL account through
Outlook and restablished it. That did not eliminate the error. I ran the
detect and repair from within Office, and that did not help. I reinstalled
Office many times which did not fix the problem. I ran a disk check on the C
drive. I even established a new administrator account for Windows and
reinstalled Office into that. Absolutely none of the above steps have
eliminated this error. This has been a very nagging problem. Any
suggestions?
